With diving activity ramping-up rapidly as we approach the Summer 2019-2020 season, the team at Air Purity Limited thought it timely to update the New Zealand diving community on its services and the coming change of ROC tags from 2019 to 2020.
Improvements to services -
Currently, the Air Purity Board is looking at how to structure the operational team to best serve the industry’s needs, which will mean some roles will change. However, the intention is to keep on all current personal/contractors in some capacity.
The provision of essential industry services such as SCAP, ROC, air and filler testing, MSCDB and DAS qualifications remains a priority for Air Purity and its growing nationwide network of contractors.
Improvements in the delivery of these services and more remain central to Air Purity’s obligation to the industry and are earmarked to benefit from further development by key team members and the APL board.
Air Purity and parent organisation NZ Underwater’s position as voices for the industry with WorkSafe and government agencies Water Safety NZ and Maritime NZ continues to strengthen via on-going networking and the delivery of safety campaigns for divers.
As an asset to NZ Underwater, APL’s growth in the sector of pure air services looks positive.
2020 ROC (Ring of Confidence) and Christmas trading hours -

Set up in 2013, Air Purity Limited is an independent, and 100% owned subsidiary of the New Zealand Underwater Association. In 1982, NZ Underwater identified the need to ensure safe diving practices were supported by quality assurance procedures extended to dive cylinders and air filling equipment, thus developing the SCAP (Scuba Cylinder Audit Program). Today, Air Purity is a primary point of contact for clean breathing air testing, SCAP cylinder audit and certification, air-fill operator certifications, and recreational boat training courses specific to the New Zealand underwater community.
